Holistic ADHD therapy for children at BrandauVital

ADHD & Concentration Disorders

The children are not to blame; they need support.

01

Caused

Mitochondrial dysfunction triggered by environmental influences, toxins, etc.

02

metabolism

Neurotransmitters that have been disrupted by our daily lives

03

Nutrients

Nutrient deficiencies due to poor gut health can have an impact on mental health.

04

Psyche

Mental traumas and one's own childhood can also have a blocking effect on the subconscious.

Addressing ADHD with complementary therapies

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) can often be supported by complementary approaches on several levels. In addition to conventional therapies such as medication and behavioral therapy, there are approaches that target mitochondria, gut health, neurotransmitter balance, neurotraining, athletic training, and nervous system training.

1. Mitochondrial support

  • Energy metabolism: Mitochondria are responsible for energy production in cells, including those in the brain. Mitochondrial dysfunction can lead to energy deficiency in nerve cells, which can impair concentration and impulse control.
  • Mitochondria-nourishing nutrients: Supplements such as coenzyme Q10, NADH, alpha-lipoic acid and magnesium can improve mitochondrial function and increase energy levels in the brain.

  • 2. Gut health (microbiome)

  • Gut-brain axis: The gut is closely connected to the brain, and the microbiome plays a central role in neurotransmitter production and the nervous system. Imbalances in the gut can increase inflammation and oxidative stress, which can affect ADHD symptoms.
  • Probiotics and prebiotic diet: Taking probiotics and eating a high-fiber diet can strengthen the microbiome and thus support gut-brain communication. This can contribute to improved mood and concentration.

  • 3. Neurotransmitter-Balance

  • ADHD is often associated with an imbalance of dopamine and norepinephrine. In addition to medication, natural approaches such as L-tyrosine and L-theanine, which act as precursors to neurotransmitter production, can be helpful.
  • Food and supplements: Nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B6, magnesium and zinc are also beneficial, as they can support the synthesis of neurotransmitters and the transmission of stimuli in the brain.

  • 4. Neurotraining and Neuroathletics

Neurotraining, such as eye and balance training, can positively influence brain structure and function. Neuroathletic exercises, which specifically target the nervous system, can help improve concentration and body control.

  • Coordination and brain activity: Specific exercises that challenge coordinative skills help the brain become more attentive and responsive.

  • 5. Nervous system training

  • ADHD is often associated with increased activation of the sympathetic nervous system (stress response). Parasympathetic nervous system training helps to calm the nervous system and promote a relaxation response.
  • Breathing techniques and heart rate variability: Techniques such as deep abdominal breathing, biofeedback and HRV training can help strengthen the parasympathetic nervous system, which stabilizes the nervous system and reduces irritability.

  • 6. Regular exercise training

Physical activity supports the release of neurotransmitters such as dopamine and endorphins, which play a role in ADHD. Sports activities improve concentration and impulse control.

  • Exercise as therapy: A balanced training program with both aerobic and anaerobic exercises, such as running, dancing or strength training, can boost self-confidence and help alleviate ADHD symptoms.

  • A holistic approach to ADHD considers the interplay between the brain, gut, mitochondria, and nervous system. The combination of dietary adjustments, exercise, breathing techniques, and targeted training can improve well-being and concentration, and naturally alleviate ADHD symptoms.

Holistic ADHD therapy: Effective support for children and parents

    On site

The diagnostic appointment usually lasts 3-4 hours. If you are coming from further away, we work with block appointments so that patients from further away can also benefit from our strategy.

We work with a holistic and causal anamnesis followed by a therapy plan.

    Online

We can send you certain diagnostic tools. Most therapy methods can also be carried out at home. We can take the first steps online and, for example, schedule a two-day intensive session. Afterwards, we will continue to support and guide you.

    Academy

In our academy, you'll receive further support to truly experience your goal of health and vitality. Illness never comes overnight, and it never goes away overnight either. But we can alleviate symptoms overnight.

Do you want to support your children?

We are the only ones who not only address the mitochondria in relation to the body, but also include mental experiences and causes.
